The Role

We consider this an entry level role at Kotter within our consulting engagements.  We are not looking for a specific degree or background focus. We do require stellar academic performance as evidence of your commitment to learning and your ability to achieve excellent results.  We believe your success is more dependent on your ability and desire to be a leader, contribute positively, advocate for your ideas, be part of a team, work hard, and make a difference. You will provide primarily administrative support to the engagement team working on client engagements.  In doing so, you will get to see how we work with our clients in diverse industries around the world to achieve amazing results. You will work with and be mentored by a team of talented professionals. You will have the opportunity to learn and live how we work with each other and with our clients to impact people and business results.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Consultant is to support the engagement team on client engagements. The nature of this support will vary from engagement to engagement, at times being client facing requiring travel and may include any of the following activities:

  • Support the Kotter engagement team with the administration of activities and project management on an engagement.  Types of support provided will include, but are not limited to, analytics, document preparation, digital filing/recording, scheduling, and other administrative/engagement support needs.
  • Conduct relevant research on clients and potential clients and their industries.
  • Participate in meetings and research discussions; document progress and findings.
  • Assist the Kotter team with preparation for, and support during, workshops, education sessions, business development and meetings (internal and with clients).
  • Prepare client-ready materials for meetings, workshops, etc.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a bias for action with a track record of meeting and exceeding expectations.  They will possess strong organizational and communication skills with a proactive mindset geared toward providing solutions.  Curiosity and a hunger for learning is necessary, along with an ability to build and maintain strong relationships. Comfort with ambiguity and adept at influencing and leading others.


  • Superior research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated capabilities in teamwork and leadership
  • Ability to learn, apply, and communicate business-related concepts and ideas
  • Effective listening skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated time management skills: proactive thinking and planning
  • Technology skills – Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, online research, etc. on various platforms and devices as well as interest in new technologies and ways to communicate
  • Willingness to travel
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university required
  • 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA and/or Master’s degree preferred
